This brief offered the chance to experiment with many materials while recording the results. Once I felt I had enough raw footage I began to play wit how I was going to create a motion design piece from it.
As I was looking at movement, in terms of humans and marbling inks, I combined them both to create a visual that warped the bodies movements into something entirely new, and that no longer resembles the original footage.
Some of the first things that came to mind were kaleidoscopes and fractals.

I recorded myself moving sheet of marbled paper over each other using an LED light box underneath to make them overlap
I then asked some of my fellow students to perform in front of a green screen. I wanted to unpredictable movements, so I gave them as little direction as possible
Breakdown
I Used mostly After Effects for this project.
Because I was using unpredictable movements I tried to limit the amount of plugins and effects that I would use, as they sometimes made the footage too repetitive. I relied mostly on the scaling and rotating of layers.
